Description

Overview:

StenTam is seeking an experienced Senior Collections Attorney to join our dynamic team in Arizona. With a client base of approximately 8,000 and an A/R collections portfolio exceeding $75 million, the successful candidate will play a crucial role in managing the collections process, overseeing a dedicated in-house collections team, and ensuring the enforcement of contractual rights through litigation when necessary.

Responsibilities:

  1. Collections Management:

    • Oversee and manage the entire collections process for a diverse client base.
    • Utilize effective communication skills to engage with clients by telephone and through written correspondence.
    • Implement strategic collection methodologies to maximize recovery and minimize losses.
  2. Litigation Preparation and Filing:

    • Analyze case details and prepare legal documents for litigation.
    • File lawsuits when required to enforce the company's contractual rights.
    • Represent the company in court proceedings, working towards favorable resolutions.
  3. Team Leadership:

    • Lead and inspire an in-house collections team to achieve optimal results.
    • Provide guidance, training, and support to team members.
    • Ensure compliance with legal and ethical standards in all collection activities.
  4. Risk Management:

    • Evaluate the financial risk associated with each case and develop strategies to mitigate potential losses.
    • Collaborate with other departments to implement preventive measures to reduce future collection challenges.
  5. Legal Research and Compliance:

    • Stay abreast of relevant legal developments in tax law and collections.
    • Ensure the collections process complies with federal and state laws and regulations.

Qualifications:

  1. Education and Licensing:

    • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
    • Active license to practice law in the state of Arizona.
  2. Experience:

    • Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in collections and litigation, preferably in a tax-related field.
    • Proven track record of successful litigation and collections management.
  3. Skills:

    • Strong understanding of tax law and collections practices.
    • Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
    • Ability to manage and motivate a team effectively.
  4. Attributes:

    • Detail-oriented with strong analytical skills.
    • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
    • Demonstrated leadership and decision-making capabilities.
