ADDITIONAL MONETARY/BENEFIT VALUE:
In addition to the base wage listed, employees in this classification receive:
The Court pays 100% of employee health premium and contributes a significant amount to dependent coverage.
Biweekly Court contribution of $13.02 towards cost of dental premium.
Biweekly Court contribution of approximately 29.3% of gross wages towards employee's mandatory retirement account.

Examples of Duties
- Performs difficult and complex legal research and analysis of legal issues and evidence, and of statutory and case law, preparing advisory memoranda, recommendations, prospective orders, opinions and court judgments, for review and consideration by the judges of the Superior Court.
- Review of court cases, pleadings and evidence.
- Determination of all legal issues in matters before the court; the conduct of extensive research of statutory and case law applicable to such matters, consultation with judges regarding judicial requirements.
- Preparation of extensive legal memoranda and prospective court orders, opinions and judgments for judicial review.
- Performs related duties as assigned.
Requirements
Employment Standards
- One (1) year of full-time paid experience as a legal research attorney or law clerk for a California trial or appellate court; OR
- Five (5) years of full time experience in the active and licensed practice of law in California; OR
- Any combination of training, education and experience which would provide the required knowledge and abilities is required, as determined by the Court.
Knowledge of: the principles of criminal and civil law and the application of such principles; knowledge of California statutory and case law and their application. Knowledge of the methods of legal research and analysis, and of the preparation of court orders and judgments.
Demonstrated verbal and written communication and organizational skills.
